Which Meta Tags Are Important on Blogger Header

Meta tags are a kind of information on your website or blog to be indexed by the search engine bots, with it you can manage what to read about your page and will be displayed in the search engines results, But which meta tags are important on Blogger header to make your blog more friendly and more SEO.

Before we talk about how meta tags could make your blog get better indexing, see meta tags which I found on internet below:

As you can see, I mark it with red arrow, is it funny isn't it? with those meta tags they try tell all search engine that they blog have alexa rank 100, and have pagerank 10, and I don't understand about name='serps'.

Maybe all that meta tags are not wrong, but it becomes more funny and looks to do some sort of trickery, and be careful that kind of  that thing could made your blog or website considered to spam.

Now we back to blogger meta tags, I am personally not used meta tag on header, because by default search engine will index and following everything available on your page. except you give some kind of meta tags to obey, like noindex, nofollow and more.

Common useful meta tags which I know to get better indexing is:

<meta content='all,index,follow' name='robots'/>
<meta content='your-keywords' name='keywords'/>
<meta content='your-description' name='description' />
<meta content='author' name='author'/>
<meta content='en' name='language'/>

As I said, I am not using all above meta tags, because on Blogger, you can give meta tags description in Setting >> Search preferences, and even it will bringing up search description in post setting on every your Blogger posts page, usually below Location.

For keyword, right now Google not using it anymore, and keywords will taken directly from article content, I think all search engine will also do this to avoid spam keywords. Robots by default is follow all page and index it, language is automatically recognized by search engine and to author, you can connect your blog with your Google+.

That's way all important meta tag has automatically available when first time you create your blog using Blogger, I hope this can be useful, thanks.
